  Finding Joseph Wright, His father, My Grandfather   After finding Joseph Wright and the location where he is buried and visiting Fawkner Memorial Park near Melbourne in June 2023. The search continued to find out who was Josephs Mother and Father after lots of research the Tuck side of the family. I knew through DNA that Charles Tuck 1850-1942 and his Wife Ellen Mary Tuck nee Hill 1860-1936, that it was highly possible they were my Great Grandparents.     My attention turned to finding the link between Joseph and the Tucks. As Joseph was adopted at a time when records of adoption didn’t need to or weren’t kept this had some challenges within itself.   So, the research continued to work through the Tuck family and who would be the link to Joseph. Working through the family and possibilities it come down to 2 of Charles and Ellens sons, Leslie Joseph Tuck, and Charles Fredrick Tuck. Now Leslie Joseph Tuck 1901-1981 had 2 children Elizabeth (Betty) Tuck and William (Bill) Tuck.

  Aunt Polly   Who is this Lady? Is this Josephs Mother? Is this the mystery lady that begged the Wrights to adopt her baby at the orphanage.    Well that’s all we know about you so far  Will we ever find anything more on  who Aunt Polly is ? that is the next one of the mysteries to try and uncover.   Who was Aunt Polly? Joseph Wright was adopted out in 1928. The thing about it was the story goes the Les and Anne Wright had a biological daughter Iris and had adopted a girl Joan unfortunately she passed away at 12 months old.  They had gone to an orphanage to adopt another baby girl. There was a lady there in the waiting room with a baby and this lady begged them to take her baby.   The Life of Joseph Wright  Wow what a last week or so has been after receiving new information  and working with the wonderful helpers I have.  The Mystery of Joseph Wright I believe may be solved or at least some of it.   I’ve had Josephs name for at least 29years but he had been quite elusive many trips all those years ago to State Library’s and Archives trying to find the clues that would led to Josephs whereabouts.  And after all those years it was of searching, it was some new information that had appear recently that led to the discovery of Joseph Wright for me  The follwing is an Extract from a story found on Ancestry, It was placed on there by Raine who is the  daughther of the Wrights biological daughter Iris Wright,  "Joseph Wright’s Two Families The story was that Joe was transferred to Sydney (without Joyce?) with his work and that Dot followed him there.     Joseph Wright Timeline 1928-1982  The following is a Timeline that has has been put together by Raine,  Raine is the daughter of Iris.  Iris was the biological daughter of Les and Anne Wright who Adopted Joseph Wright. Could Joe have been born elsewhere; Yarrawonga? Joe was not registered as Joseph Wright in 1928. Was Joe’s birth mother a Catholic. He was later sent to a Catholic private school. In 1928 the Wright family was renting at 38 Deakin Street, Brunswick. Les was listed as a Farrier (on some lists, it was shown as ‘farmer’).
